Greubel Forsey presents the Final Edition of the Balancier Contemporain, a masterful tribute to one of its most iconic calibres. Encased in a 39.6mm stainless steel case—used only twice before in the brand’s history—this timepiece is limited to just 33 pieces worldwide, all to be delivered in 2025. Once completed, the Balancier Contemporain calibre will be permanently retired, making this edition a true collector’s piece.
Beneath its high-domed sapphire crystal lies a multi-level gold dial, featuring a sunburst blue hour-ring, deep blue minute-circle, and sectorial displays for small seconds and power reserve. A large visual opening reveals the in-house 12.6mm balance wheel, suspended above a flat, black-polished gold plate that adds dramatic depth and reflection.
The movement, composed of 256 hand-finished components, showcases Greubel Forsey’s uncompromising craftsmanship. Nickel silver bridges with blue treatment, a flat black-polished steel balance bridge, and olive-domed jewels in gold chatons reflect the brand’s dedication to haute horlogerie. Even the movement side is engraved with the brand’s core values—visible only to the watchmaker, yet finished to perfection.
This Final Edition is not only a closing chapter but also a bold new beginning, signaling Greubel Forsey’s future focus on small-diameter timepieces with elegance, proportion, and mechanical artistry.
