Charles Girardler was born in Geneva in 1759. He equipped himself with the necessary skills to stablish his own workshop aged just 21. Despite his tender years he made the decision to sign his creations Girardier l'Aîné (The Elder), perhaps in a bid to project an air of superiority.
In 1809 he was awarded the title of Maître Horloger (1809 is the reference of our first calibre). In 1810 his masterpieces were recognized by the Society of Arts of Geneva His reputation attracted distinguished clientele including royalty who clearly admired. Executed in fine enamel, Exquisite Dials gracing his pocket watches featured mechanical art (automaton) animating the dial. Such a brillant Master Watch Maker is unknown today.
In 2018 Patrick A. Ulm attracted by the masterpieces in the museums of Agatha Christie UK, Geneva and Paris. He then bought pocket watches from collectors. He finally decided to revive "the sleeping beauty, characterized by original mechanical animations enhanced by an enamel dial.
The new chapter in the history of the watchmaking house Charles Girardier is a contemporary tribute to its values and its particular style. His creations of two centuries ago have inspired us for the patented mechanical animation of the "Mysterious Signature" enhanced by grand feu enamel.
In 2018 Patrick A. Ulm registered the brand "Charles Girardier" and found the human and financial resources to launch a magnificent project.
In 2019 he filed the patent of the complication and the brand "Signature Mystérieuse and launches his first collection of watches". CG also becomes a passionate and innovative enameller.
In 2020 Charles Girardier wins the Grand Prix de l'horlogerie de Genève GPHG in the women's complication category. The artistic and tailor-made approach is rewarded.
In 2021 Charles Girardier is equipped with a master hallmark and auctions a unique Only Watch Fusion Enamel watch
The design and manufacture of Charles Girardier timepieces are carried out in an independent Geneva manufacture able to guarantee 100% of the components and the CG calibre.
