Arnold & Son is opening a new chapter in its collections of materials. After timepieces featuring charoite, specular hematite and even meteorite, a one-off piece from the Double Tourbillon collection played host to the glistening pale yellow hues of Baltic amber for the very first time. Difficult to source and challenging to work, it took the house several months to find the precious fossil needed to produce the 38 HM Steel Amber timepieces.

Through an advanced bonding process, the titanium core permanently merges with a 0.4mm ultra- lightweight yet resilient composite shell in firey red. Within this complicated process, the case is carved out of a solid block of the high-end composite. The world’s first Titanium Core Nano Shell case creates an eye-catching aesthetic, setting a new standard in modern watch case engineering.

This single push-piece chronograph seems to have been plucked from the dashboard of a vintage GT car. It is equipped with a single timing hand – the centre seconds hand – and can time a maximum of one minute. With its sleek and refined retro sports look, Instrument de Vitesse is intended for enthusiasts of watchmaking history and culture. Housed in a 39-mm steel case, its 4.20 mm manually wound Manufacture calibre ensures that the finished timepiece is less than 10 mm thick. Instrument de Vitesse is available with an ivory-white or ebony-black dial in two limited series of 25 timepieces each.
