DANIEL ROTH proudly presents the Tourbillon Platinum, a timepiece that pays homage to the brand’s rich heritage and its founder’s enduring passion for the tourbillon complication. This exceptional creation is inspired by the 1988 reference C187 and reinterprets it with modern refinement, artisanal craftsmanship, and a noble platinum case.

The signature double-ellipse case, now crafted in platinum, measures 38.6 x 35.5 mm and is just 9.2 mm thick. It houses a hand-guilloché dial made of solid white gold, finished in anthracite and accented with a sterling silver chapter ring. The dial’s linear guilloché pattern is executed by a single Maître Guillocheur over three days, reflecting the brand’s commitment to traditional métiers d’art.

Inside beats the DR001 calibre, a manually wound movement developed by Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. Comprising 206 components, it offers an 80-hour power reserve and operates at 3Hz. The movement is entirely hand-finished, including hidden components, and features a triple-arm seconds hand—a nod to Daniel Roth’s original design language.

The Tourbillon Platinum is the third model in the brand’s rebirth, following the Tourbillon Souscription and the rose gold edition. It offers a more contemporary aesthetic while remaining faithful to the brand’s DNA of mechanical excellence and elegant restraint.

Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, 26 June 2024: Following the inaugural redesigned One Week First Edition that made its debut in 2023, Armin Strom unveils a new version of the successor to its first-ever manufacture movement with the One Week Manufacture Edition. The highly architectural openworked movement, housed in a sleek and sporty steel case with an integrated bracelet, is now presented in a range of grey and anthracite hues. Limited to 100 pieces, the One Week Manufacture Edition foregoes colour to bring out the beauty of its uniquely constructed manual calibre.

15 years ago, independent watchmaking brand Armin Strom took a major leap that would forever change its trajectory. Realising that the path to true independence lies in mastering every step of the process, it established its very own manufacture in Biel. A year later, the first timepiece produced by its vertically integrated manufacture was unveiled: the One Week. Entirely developed and manufactured in-house and designed with symmetrical harmony in mind, it stood out thanks to its unique movement architecture featuring two barrels that together provide a seven-day power reserve. This milestone marked the beginning of many new calibres and innovations by the Armin Strom manufacture, showcasing their dedication to the science of movement and garnering the admiration and respect of even the most discerning and seasoned collectors.

The new One Week Manufacture Edition completely reimagines this milestone calibre in line with the brand’s recent bolder, more three-dimensional approach to calibre design, all in a sleek and serene execution that further highlights its ingenuity and uniqueness. The mainplate, bridges and parts, visible on the dial thanks to the openworked movement design, are anthracite PVD coated for a striking look.

As Armin Strom founder Serge Michel notes: “Collectors who missed the opportunity to get a first edition of the redesigned One Week will now have another chance. The Manufacture Edition of the new One Week will be limited to 100 pieces.”

The aesthetics and construction of John Arnold’s marine chronometers were necessarily classic and functional, and were adapted to the harsh conditions of the high seas. Longitude Titanium, a contemporary interpretation of the great English watchmaker’s work, coherently combines this naval heritage with a refined design and highly resistant materials. The finesse of curves With its graceful curves and wide apertures, Ultrathin Tourbillon Skeleton also stands out for its slimness. Its new case, with a diameter of 41.5 mm and a thickness of 8.4 mm, presents the flying tourbillon calibre in its purest expression. The Ultrathin Tourbillon Skeleton collection, adorned in red gold or platinum, is issued in two limited series featuring 28 watches apiece. Arnold & Son continues its tour of the Ultrathin Tourbillon collection. The A&S8320 calibre unveils its curves, apertures and details within a 41.5 mm case in either red gold (5N) or platinum (PT 950), each released in a run of 28 timepieces. Encased in this precious housing, Arnold & Son’s flying tourbillon stands out for its finesse and precision. Finesse, because at just 3.3 mm thick, it is one of the slimmest skeleton tourbillon calibres in existence. Precision, because this one-minute flying tourbillon is assembled with a variable-inertia balance for enhanced calibration stability.
