Crafted in platinum (Pt950), the 41.5 mm case houses a dial of hand-guilloché tremblé engraving in 18K yellow gold, inspired by the fern-covered moors of Tintagel, Cornwall—Arnold’s birthplace and the mythical land of King Arthur. The white opal subdial and visible constant force mechanism add depth and elegance.

Debuting on May 19, 2026, this launch presents an exclusive mechanical showcase for collectors—featuring a massive dial opening that reveals the magnificent inner workings of the movement from the front. Crafted with a luxurious three-part platinum case, the watch conceals a subtle celebratory nod on its reverse side: a balance cock delicately engraved with "1826", the birth year of Moritz Grossmann.

At the heart of this timepiece is the hand-wound manufactory calibre 107.0, a technical tour de force that essentially stands as a mirror image of the signature calibre 100.1. To allow components like the Grossmann balance, hand-engraved balance cock, and the triple-band snailing on the ratchet wheel to be admired on the dial side instead of being hidden on the back, the entire movement architecture had to be re-engineered. An additional wheel integrated between the crown wheel and the ratchet wheel reverses the rotation of the drive train, allowing the mirrored escapement and oscillation system to run perfectly in the correct direction.

The defining aesthetic highlight of this model is its German silver dial face, treated with the historic hand-worked tremblage engraving technique. By meticulously guiding a cutter back and forth in tiny trembling movements, master artisans create a vibrant, finely granulated, and uniform matt texture. The remaining dial elements define the watch's character, offered in either an expressive violet or a captivating "blue meteor" galvanized shade, framing the hour display from 11 to 5 o'clock. Arnold & Son unveils the Perpetual Moon 41.5 Cliff Grey Edition, a poetic tribute to the cliffs of Cornwall and the legacy of John Arnold, the renowned marine chronometer-maker. This limited edition of 28 pieces in 18-carat red gold reflects the brand’s deep connection to celestial navigation and English heritage.

The dial is adorned with the exclusive Stellar Rays motif, a textured pattern that plays with light through layered transparent lacquer. Its Cliff Grey tone evokes the misty British coastline, while the moon phase display—among the largest in watchmaking—glows in mother-of-pearl enhanced with Super-LumiNova. Set against a midnight-blue sky, the moon is surrounded by hand-painted constellations, Ursa Major and Cassiopeia, symbols of guidance and exploration.

The case, measuring 41.5 mm in diameter, is sculpted with refined lugs and a slim bezel that opens up the dial to its full celestial display. On the reverse, a secondary moon-phase indicator allows for precise adjustment of the moon’s age.

Inside, the manually wound A&S1512 calibre offers a 90-hour power reserve and tracks lunar cycles with remarkable precision. So accurate is its mechanism that it would take 122 years of continuous operation to accumulate a single day’s deviation from the actual lunar cycle.

Crafted entirely in-house in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the movement is finished with Geneva stripes, blued screws, and circular graining. The watch is completed with a warm grey alligator leather strap and a matching red gold pin buckle.
