The narrative behind these watches stretches back millions of years before the creation of the first mechanical movement. The Small Second Serpentine features a striking green stone sourced from the region surrounding Zermatt and the Matterhorn, representing an ancient ocean floor pushed upward during continental collisions to form the Alps. Meanwhile, the Small Second Jasper utilizes the painted stone of the Earth from Germany, honoring the foundational roots of founder Gerd Rüdiger Lang and connecting with the historic stone-cutting traditions of Idar-Oberstein.

Because these creations rely on genuine natural minerals, every single dial is entirely unique. The Small Second Jasper captivates the eye with a landscape of warm beige, brown, and ivory tones housed in a refined stainless steel case, while the Small Second Serpentine presents a vivid green dial paired with a sophisticated two-tone stainless steel and 18-karat red gold case. At the heart of these models lies the Chronoswiss Manufacture Caliber C.6000, an automatic movement that delivers an approximate 55-hour power reserve. Housed within a 40-millimeter case featuring the signature fluted bezel and onion crown, the design maintains visual balance by placing the hand-guilloched small seconds subdial at the 9 o'clock position.

Design & Aesthetics

The watch features a 41 mm stainless steel case and an off-center transparent sapphire crystal dial with a subdial. The main plate, crafted by Kari Voutilainen, showcases a stunning glacial blue guilloché pattern. The color palette of silvery greys and soft blues is inspired by the serene beauty of Swiss glacial lakes. The watch is completed with a blue nubuck leather strap with ice blue stitching.

Movement & Mechanics

Powered by the proprietary Caliber ASB19, the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Blue is the world’s first automatic movement with a patented stop-work declutch mechanism and Geneva cross. This ensures consistent torque and precision across a 72-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through both the front and back sapphire crystals, and features hand-finished components with perlage, Geneva stripes, and circular graining.

Craftsmanship

Each watch is assembled twice to ensure reliability and refinement. Every component is hand-finished in Biel/Bienne, emphasizing traditional techniques and an open-worked design.

Housed in a 42mm Grade 5 titanium case with a matte finish, this limited-edition timepiece pays homage to an era celebrated for its architectural clarity, geometric symmetry, and creative freedom. Combined with a black nubuck strap, the piece achieves a balanced, modern presence that elevates the emblematic Delphis complication first introduced in 1996.

At the center of the watch is a lasered, nickel-coated main dial featuring a subtle three-dimensional texture in a refined grey tone. The upper stage hosts the iconic Delphis display: a digital jumping hour at 12 o'clock, a sweeping retrograde minute hand, and a subdial at 6 o'clock. Highlighted in a captivating "Art-Deco Blue" lacquer over a hand-guilloché base engraved on century-old machines at Atelier Lucerne, the subdial is beautifully accented by a gold-plated minute ring that adds a warm, geometric contrast.

Beating inside is the manufacture automatic Caliber C.6004, developed in partnership with La Joux-Perret. Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, this 37-jewel movement delivers a 55-hour power reserve and features ruthenium-plated bridges decorated with Geneva stripes and a skeletonized tungsten rotor. The 17-piece solid titanium case incorporates Chronoswiss’s signature onion crown, patented Autobloc screw lugs, and a robust 10 bar (100m) water resistance rating.

Strictly limited to just 150 pieces worldwide, the Chronoswiss Delphis Art Deco is a sophisticated mechanical tribute to 1920s design reimagined for contemporary collectors. The brand selected only genuine ruby exhibiting depth of colour, fine inclusions, and naturally occurring variations—features that are not flaws but signatures of authenticity, shaped by geological processes over millions of years. As light moves across the dial, subtle tonal shifts appear, infusing the watch with a vibrant mineral presence that contrasts strikingly with the symmetry and modernity of the exposed mechanics.

Beyond its visual impact, this edition embodies ARMIN STROM’s belief that materials must carry meaning. While natural ruby asserts its aesthetic and symbolic presence on the dial, synthetic ruby jewels within the movement fulfil their longstanding horological role of reducing friction and ensuring long-term precision.
