Encased in a 41 mm stainless steel case and paired with an integrated steel bracelet, the watch features a fully openworked architecture. The traditional dial is replaced by a blue PVD-coated mainplate, creating a vivid stage for the movement’s choreography. The brilliant red dial is hand-crafted on a traditional, manually operated rose engine lathe, engraving a radiating pattern that catches and plays with light in captivating reflections. Encircled by black azuré chapter rings and topped with faceted, floating index markers, the dial's layout creates a stark, three-dimensional contrast that maximizes both visual depth and legibility. Housed in a polished 43 mm stainless steel case, the movement's technical architecture is framed by anthracite-coated bridges and paired with a dark grey Alcantara strap—ensuring that the vibrant red dial and the synchronized dance of the resonance mechanism remain the undisputed center of attention.

At the heart of this technical marvel lies the in-house Calibre ARF21, a hand-wound movement that integrates two completely independent movements within a single calibre. Connected via Armin Strom's patented Resonance Clutch, the two opposing balance wheels transfer vibrations to enter and maintain a perfect state of harmonic resonance. The main plate, crafted by Kari Voutilainen, showcases a stunning glacial blue guilloché pattern. The color palette of silvery greys and soft blues is inspired by the serene beauty of Swiss glacial lakes. The watch is completed with a blue nubuck leather strap with ice blue stitching.

Movement & Mechanics

Powered by the proprietary Caliber ASB19, the Gravity Equal Force Ultimate Sapphire Blue is the world’s first automatic movement with a patented stop-work declutch mechanism and Geneva cross. This ensures consistent torque and precision across a 72-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through both the front and back sapphire crystals, and features hand-finished components with perlage, Geneva stripes, and circular graining.

Limited to just 30 pieces worldwide, this anniversary edition marks a milestone in modern independent watchmaking, honoring the legacy of the original Opus while pushing the boundaries of design and mechanical transparency.

First introduced in 1995 by Chronoswiss founder Gerd-Rüdiger Lang, the Opus revolutionized the chronograph landscape by exposing its intricate movement architecture on the dial side—a radical departure from the traditionally closed and utilitarian chronographs of the time. The Opus became a symbol of mechanical artistry and a signature of the brand’s avant-garde spirit.

The Opus Purple Rain carries this legacy into the future with unapologetic flair. Encased in Grade 5 titanium and finished with a radiant purple CVD coating, the watch is both lightweight and visually arresting. Its skeletonized dial, also rendered in ultraviolet hues, reveals the ruthenium-coated Chronoswiss C.741S automatic chronograph caliber, offering a 46-hour power reserve and a full suite of chronograph functions including central seconds, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, small seconds, and date.

Adding to its rebellious character is a white UV-reactive leather strap that transforms into glowing purple when exposed to sunlight—an unexpected and surreal tribute to the energy behind this creation.
