The Evolution of Transparent Mechanics
Armin Strom pushes the boundaries of haute horlogerie with the Orbit Midnight Purple, a striking 20-piece limited edition that embeds the manufacture’s historic signature colour directly into its mechanical soul. For the first time, a frosted, PVD-coated Midnight Purple mainplate sits visibly beneath the three-dimensional architecture, perfectly contrasting with the rhodium-coated finger bridges and hand-finished components. Paired with a captivating purple fumé dial that transitions from a vibrant core to dark edges, this timepiece captures absolute visual depth.
World-First On-Demand Complication
At the heart of the 43.4 mm stainless steel case beats the manufacture Calibre ASS20, an automatic movement featuring a micro-rotor and a patented equal force barrel that ensures a stable 72-hour power reserve. This movement drives the world's first on-demand date mechanism integrated onto a black ceramic bezel. Driven by a traditional column-wheel mechanism for ultra-smooth tactile operation, a single press of the 10 o'clock pusher instantly swings the date hand into action. A second press discreetly returns the hand to its 12 o'clock resting position, leaving the openworked dial entirely free from clutter. With a fully integrated steel bracelet and indices crafted from solid blocks of Super-LumiNova®, the Orbit Midnight Purple seamlessly marries haute horlogerie finishing with everyday versatility.
