Chronoswiss has officially introduced the Opus Dakar Sundown, a striking new interpretation of the celebrated Opus Dakar that captures the fleeting magic of sunset over the desert. Housed in a distinctive 41mm two-tone case crafted from stainless steel and 18ct red gold, the timepiece masterfully blends the rugged spirit of adventure with refined luxury. The warm glow of precious metal flows seamlessly into the robust steel construction, mirroring the final golden rays dancing across endless dunes. This ultimate celebration of contrasts is beautifully completed by a sand-colored nubuck leather strap that evokes the warm tones of sunlit, weathered terrain.

At the heart of the watch beats the Chronoswiss Manufacture Caliber C.741S, a fully skeletonized automatic chronograph movement that transforms every measurement of time into a visual spectacle. Designed for legibility and visual complexity, the central chronograph seconds hand sweeps the openworked dial in harmony with a 30-minute counter at 12 o'clock and a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock. A running small seconds display at 9 o'clock provides a constant indication of the movement's heartbeat, while a highly unique, analogue pointer date display at 3 o'clock enhances its everyday practicality.

The skeletonized, CVD-coated brown dial draws inspiration from the rich palette of the desert, where warm tones create a composition that is both timeless and adventurous. By exposing the intricate mechanics beneath the surface, every skeletonized bridge, wheel, and component directly contributes to a captivating, mechanical canvas. The hands are crafted in the elegant Breguet Losange shape and rhodium-plated to ensure striking contrast against the dark, galvanic black perlage of the base plate.

Crafted in solid 23 pieces, the 41mm case features an 18ct red gold bezel with partial knurling, a screw-down case back with a red gold coin-edge ring, and Chronoswiss’s iconic onion crown. The total weight of gold used in this exceptional construction is 21.4 grams. Offering a water resistance of 3 bar (30 meters), the watch is equipped with screw-in lugs utilizing the patented Autobloc system. At the heart of this timepiece lies a groundbreaking complication: the Eccentric Planetarium, the only mechanical Grand Planetary Complication in the world that accurately displays all eight planets—Mercury, Venus, Earth and her Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune—moving in real time around the Sun. The dial is a celestial spectacle in itself: crafted from aventurine glass (goldﬂuss), it mimics the night sky, complete with zodiac constellations. The Eccentric Planetarium features hand-painted planetary orbits, while the meteorite dial ring, set between Mars and Jupiter, signiﬁes the asteroid belt and contains real fragments of a martian nakhlite meteorite —a piece of another world encased within this exceptional timepiece.

Encased in domed sapphire crystal, the 44mm meteorite case showcases the celestial ballet within. The sapphire crystal case-back reveals the movement’s intricate craftsmanship, while the dark blue hand-stitched leather strap and platinum folding clasp complete this cosmic masterpiece.

Arnold & Son has unveiled its new "Perpetual Moon 41.5 Steel Colours of the Moon" collection, a series of highly exclusive, limited-edition timepieces inspired by the changing celestial hues of Earth's natural satellite. Detailed in the official release document, "ENG_A&S PM 41.5 Steel Colours of the Moon.doc", the collection features three distinct versions—the Blue Moon, Golden Moon, and Red Moon—each celebrating a unique atmospheric or seasonal phenomenon that alters the Moon's appearance and has fascinated civilisations throughout history.

Reinterpreting the iconic Perpetual Moon collection, these new models introduce a 41.5 mm stainless-steel case that balances horological exclusivity with everyday versatility. In a watchmaking first, Arnold & Son has applied a pioneering Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) treatment directly onto precious mother-of-pearl. This innovative process creates deep, shifting reflections across the dials and moon-phase skies, showcasing the natural organic layers of the material with patterns that recall the flowing grain of Damascus steel.

The astronomical precision of the moon phase is enhanced by Super-LumiNova hidden beneath the colored mother-of-pearl moon disc, accompanied by hand-painted luminescent constellations of Cassiopeia and Ursa Major—a poetic tribute to historical mariners who relied on them for navigation. Bringing this celestial mechanics to life is the in-house A&S1512 manual-winding calibre. This movement provides a generous 90-hour power reserve and displays meticulous luxury finishes, including radiating Côtes de Genève and a secondary moon-phase indicator, all visible through the sapphire crystal case back.

Each of the three references is paired with a matching hand-stitched alligator leather strap and secured with a stainless-steel pin buckle. To maintain their extreme exclusivity, production is strictly limited to just 18 pieces per version.
